An 80’s Earworm

While some of you may have been listening to Madonna, this is what I had in my Walkman. Earbuds? Hell no. Headphones bitches.
Please tell me you watched it all. Please. The cat is RAPPING. That is fucking bad ass. (And you’ll never realize how awesome you were in the 80’s until you are quoting those rap lyrics, by memory, with Heather on twitter.) Paula was ahead of her time. Also? I love her hair up in that high half pony tail. And I may or may not be rocking her bangs. Today.

Paula had it going on. Don’t lie to yourselves. In 1988, she was totally 80’s hot.

She was HOT. All those costume changes – and she had MOVES! But i really liked her in the grey suit toward the end. Totally awesome.

Sigh. Paula was bad ass. Remember that video with all the dancers on the scaffolding? That made me happy in my special place. I almost want to boycott American Idol now, but that’s NEVER going to happen.
Yeah, I liked that video. But only for teenage boy reasons. I was more into metal in those days, but I liked Paula before she lost her mind.
I remember this video when the song was hot. It was good one and still is.

When I’m at home alone cleaning and such, I rock the 80’s Paula Ponytail. It pretty much makes my day.
You know I wanted to be her. I was the co-captain of my cheerleading team in high school and voted most likely to be the next Laker Girl. Oh yes I did! Straight up!

I’d forgotten how much I actually like this video. I think Paula’s talent is quite underrated – dancing and singing with a rapping cartoon cat – who can top that, seriously!
This is probably one of my favorite Paula songs, I still have the CD this is on and play it regularly in my truck (read: SUV), my kids call it “oldies” HAHA!
