We all remember when Google turned their logo into the Pac-man game because that was epic and an awesome waste of time for millions. In fact, if you miss it, you can still play it here.
I guess some people didn’t think it was quite so epic. In fact, according to an article that Mashable ran yesterday, some people just didn’t quite “get it”.
Ok yes, this is pretty funny in an “aww old people are so cute” kinda way but really, props go to the guy who got the phone call.
I’ve worked in a call center. I’ve made customers my bitch before. It’s kinda fun. I’ve dealt with hysterical people, angry assholes, and people like this woman who are just generally confused. This guy might have been generously using the mute button on his phone and laughing hysterically while doing so but he came across sounding like a true professional. Especially regarding such an almost ridiculous question.
Customer service is a shitty job. It’s thankless 90% of the time. People treat the people that serve them like shit, which isn’t very smart if being done at a restaurant. Anyways, the point is that it’s hard to keep your cool all day when working in a call center and this guy did an awesome job.

Amen! customer services IS a shitty job. Although, there are definite moments of classic entertainment within it.

I remember the days of working in a call center and just really not understanding how people can be heartless to the rep. If I ever call customer service for something that is frustrating or angering, I’m always sure to repeat that I totally know that they didn’t cause my problem and I know that they themselves may not be able to fully rectify it, but that I know it’s being recorded. Ha. Also, I totally write down their names to thank them, repeatedly, by name for their ear and their help.
Weird customer service etiquette from the book of Jess apparently is what this comment morphed into… What I mean to say is, this is funny shit! Aw, old broads.

He might had an easier time if he’d instead tried to get her to just click on the speaker icon in Google’s Pac Man to turn off the sound.
