We all remember when Google turned their logo into the Pac-man game because that was epic and an awesome waste of time for millions. In fact, if you miss it, you can still play it here.

I guess some people didn’t think it was quite so epic. In fact, according to an article that Mashable ran yesterday, some people just didn’t quite “get it”.

Ok yes, this is pretty funny in an “aww old people are so cute” kinda way but really, props go to the guy who got the phone call.

I’ve worked in a call center. I’ve made customers my bitch before. It’s kinda fun. I’ve dealt with hysterical people, angry assholes, and people like this woman who are just generally confused. This guy might have been generously using the mute button on his phone and laughing hysterically while doing so but he came across sounding like a true professional. Especially regarding such an almost ridiculous question.

Customer service is a shitty job. It’s thankless 90% of the time. People treat the people that serve them like shit, which isn’t very smart if being done at a restaurant. Anyways, the point is that it’s hard to keep your cool all day when working in a call center and this guy did an awesome job.

Dodgers took back 1st place again after Tuesday’s win against the Cardinals, and with some help from the Mets for beating the Padres.

Lakers lead the finals against the Celtics 2-1.

I’ve tried, and failed at, the 365 project twice before. Both those times, I tried doing it with only pictures of myself. Both times, I ran out of ideas on how to keep it interesting. I considered doing the project with just pictures of my son but he isn’t consistently with me every day of the year so that would have been impossible. So I decided to open the project up more and just take a photo a day of anything, regardless of what it is.

I love it. I can look back on my project and know what I was doing that day. For every single day this year. I’m learning more about my camera and loving the photos I’m taking, even if they are of dead leaves sometimes.

5 months in and I haven’t missed a day. I’m proud of myself so I thought I would share.

Like I said, this has been fun so far. I’m pretty sure that’s why I haven’t given it up yet. I’d really suggest it to anyone looking to sharpen their photography skills, regardless of what kind of camera you have.

I’ve heard a lot of people say that they’ve stopped going to the movies. Some because they think movies suck these days but most because it’s too expensive. I totally agree. When a popcorn, drink, and a box of candy cost more than your ticket, we have problems. When buying that for more than one person costs more than dinner at Applebees, we have major problems. I don’t mind the ticket prices half as much as the cost of concessions. I find it hard to believe that they need to inflate the price of popcorn to 6 bucks for a bucket to stay afloat.

So far this year, I’ve seen 12 movies. I absolutely love going to the movies. To cut down on costs, I try to eat before, smuggle in my own food (yeah, ghetto but I really don’t care), and go to the earliest movie possible which is also usually the cheapest. Unless it’s in 3D. Then you still pay 11 bucks. Thanks for teaching me that, Shrek in 3D. The most expensive movie I’ve seen this year was Alice In Wonderland in IMAX 3D which was 16 bucks. Nic and Kel took me to see that for my birthday. 2 of those movies I didn’t have to pay for; one because I earned a free movie being a member of the theaters movie club and the other because the theater had problems with the projector the first time I tried to see it so I got a refund and a free ticket. One movie, Date Night, I went to see with Ant when he was here because we both love the movies so we went to one the last night he was in California.

I’d have to say that Alice, Death at a Funeral, Date Night, and Sex and the City 2 have been my favorites I’ve seen this year. I’m highly looking forward to Eclipse, Toy Story 3, and Part 1 of the last Harry Potter movie.

After a big girls weekend, it was my son’s turn to have some fun. We headed North to go visit Megan, who was hosting Jess and her son Nugget for the weekend.

The mom’s went out to a sushi dinner (ewwwww. I had the garlic Kobe beef which was AWESOME) and got tipsy on fancy drinks from Maui once we got back to the house. Which was not IN Maui, duh. Megan just brought the recipe home with her.

The next day came around, the jolly jump got delivered for Big T’s 4th birthday and let me tell you, those boys were ready to PARTY.

The highlights included a LOT of jumping and sliding, a mutilated Scooby Doo head that candy flew out of, ONE use of the ice pack after a wayward high five landed the birthday boy flat on his back, an awesome veggie plate, some nun-chucks, and Nugget who slept through all of it only to wake up at the very end.

Oh and this:

That’s a jolly jump burn for those not in the know. It might not look like much, but that fucker burns. I have a smaller matching one on the opposite elbow. When a 5 year old peer pressures you to do somersaults down the jolly jump slide, you do it. Like I really wanted to get called out by a kid with a mohawk. I don’t *think* so dude. I did the somersault, I rolled down it, and I went backwards too.

2 elbow burns and a little hip pain was worth it. Respect EARNED bitches.

Oh and? It wiped out my son. He fell asleep in the car and slept all the way through the night. 13 hours. It was AWESOME.

Or, alternatively titled, I always do what Nic tells me.

Yeah. She tagged me. That’s like sending a chain email these days right? I’m just kidding! She’s actually helping since he forced asked us to do NaBloPoMo with him this month and its only the first week and wow, everyone is struggling. I don’t know why she asked me, our lists are going to be so similar because we share a brain.

So here are Ten Things That Make Me Happy:

10: Good food. No, I don’t eat my feelings. I just love good food. Cheese, soft bread, a good steak, chicken, Pop chips, all the candy Nic and her boyfriend bring me from England, Chicago mix popcorn… I could go on and on.

9. Big beautiful clouds. That might sound weird but it’s true. I like to have the window seat on airplanes because I can watch the clouds for hours. I can also take a ton of pictures of them that no one ever cares to see because they are just clouds to them. People even twitpic beautiful skies for me.

8. My computer and my phone. Both of these things have the internet on them. And you ought to know by now that I need it to communicate with my boyfriend in NY. And of course all the awesome people I love so dearly.

7. My Nikon. It’s with me pretty much ALWAYS. I have a huge purse so it’s always on hand. I’ve taken on the 365 project (again) since the beginning of the year and I haven’t given it up yet. I love my camera and the pictures I take with it. They aren’t perfect or professional but they are mine.

6. My son having his own room. He’s 9 so that might be weird to some but he just got it in March. We cleared out a spare room and made it his, which means that he is no longer sleeping in my bed. Which is just awesome.

5. My Old Navy skirts. I have one in black, navy blue, purple, and grey. I love them. They are the perfect length, incredibly comfortable and easy to wash. I pair them with t-shirts or tanks or even nice tops. They are easy to travel with too, which came in handy in Chicago last July and will come in handy in August when I go to New York.  The reviews on Old Navy’s website say the material is too thin on them but mine are fine. I’d suggest going into Old Navy and checking them out versus buying them online. I love skirts in general but these are by far my favorite.

4. Living in California. Hearing about weather on twitter, and from my boyfriend and how terrible it is outside of California makes me grateful to live here. 90% humidity? What the fuckity fuck? Just no. Huge thunderstorms and blizzards? Passsss. I’m sure I’ll be kicking myself once I eventually move out of California but for now, I’m going to embrace what we think is crazy weather (which totally is NOT).

3.  Baseball. Specifically:

It’s just a way of life around here. I’m very excited because my son has just started getting more and more into the team and the game.

2. Him. What can I say? I’m in love. I fell for his accent the first time we spoke on the phone and I’ve just fallen harder and harder every day since. I can be myself with him, we make each other happy. I mean come on, miss out on this?

I don’t think so.

I’m not sure what else to say. He is a character and even when I’m mad at him, he can still make me laugh and smile. I love that he’s taken on learning so much about baseball, especially more about the players and their positions and STATS. Brings a tear to my eye. He pretty much rocks as a son.

A girls weekend away to you might mean dancing, dressing up in heels, spa treatments, and drinks.

To me, it means princess gowns, the sound of plastic heels click clacking on hard floors, giggles, and lots of cuddles.

Since my life is consumed with all things 9 year old boy, any time I get to go and be an Auntie to my two favorite Princess’, I do it. It helps that they belong to Nic and Kel because that means I get to have fun with them too. This also usually means good food, a new movie (this month’s was Sex and the City 2)(LOVED IT!) and lots of wine and laughter.

Even though we filled a lifetime’s worth of talking about poop and vomit this past weekend (you really don’t want to know), we all still had a really great time AND we managed to get some work done.

These are some of my people and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
